RSA celebrates end of busiest summer
The summer of 2011 has been a busy one for the team at RSA. Since May of this year we have engineered 3 music festivals (Download Festival at Donnington Park, Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth and the Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm);

We have supervised the Decision Review System for dozens of cricket matches in the UK, Guyana and St Kitts; we have also provided the transmission equipment and engineering for the in-ear radios at the UK international cricket fixtures for the ECB;

We have provided radio broadcast equipment for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships - this included building a fully operational radio studio from scratch in under 10 days, the Brighton Festival, Radio Open Golf 2011, Kingdom Faith Radio, The Royal International Air Tattoo 2011, Ramadan Radio in Greenwich.

That's a lot to fit into one summer, but if you want something done it's best to ask a busy man to do it ...

14 Feb 11 - RSA off to Cricket World Cup 2011

After a successful summer working with the ICC during Pakistan’s recent tour of England, RSA have been selected to engineer the Decision Review System (DRS) at the forthcoming Cricket World Cup. The event will be held during February and March in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and RSA engineers will be ensuring the required technology is in place.

During each match, either side will have the chance to challenge an umpire’s decision. Each review will then be assessed and verified by the third umpire using various technologies such as the stump microphones, ‘hotspot’ and ‘hawkeye’.

The actual challenge for RSA, as DRS engineers, will be to ensure that each piece of equipment works as it should and that the secure communications between the third umpire and on field officials operate trouble-free in each country at each venue.
